Easter

Ultimate parent Guide for an Epic Easter

Easter always seems so far away, until it creeps up on you and then BAM you’re scrambling to find fun ways to make sure your kids have a memorable holiday. From the eggs to the baskets, and everything in between. Here is your ultimate guide to having a great Easter every year!

Basket Toys

When filling an basket, you don’t have to go to the store and purchase an overpriced, pre-made basket that isn’t necessarily personalized for your child. I like to make a Christmas gift list throughout the year for my children to reference on black Friday. I consider Easter the halfway point and an excuse to give my kids a big gift or multiple gifts because I am too excited to wait for Christmas!

CONSIDER YOUR CHILD’S NEEDS vs WANTS

No matter the child’s age, I will always recommend books, arts and crafts, and of course something fun and personal to make them feel special.

Easter Egg Options

I decided to invest in extra large easter eggs to house larger items like balls and chalk. The kids went nuts over the extra-large eggs, and the adults found it hilarious.

My friend also had a brilliant idea to hide 1 golden egg which had a note for the finder of that egg to come to me to collect their big prize! That made the hunt even more eventful.

There are so many options out there now, like marble iridescent eggs, bunny-shaped eggs, dino eggs, and even glow-in-the-dark eggs for night hunts! How fun is that?

A WORD OF CAUTION:

My friend brought lego eggs and because they didn’t look like actual eggs, the kids skipped right over them haha. The morale of the story, try to stay within the bounds of the eggs actually looking like eggs.

Basket Clues

Every year, I print out these clues for our kids to follow. We put each into an egg which she finds throughout the house. As we get closer, we all get more and more excited! It’s a fun game to play on Easter morning to help your child find their basket!

Easter Clues

Since we held our party on the day before Easter, We used the party as an excuse to paint gifts for the family. It was fun for our daughter to pass around her art to her aunts and uncles on Easter.

I found two sets of wooden spring flowers and bugs at Target (3 for $5). I brought out mini paint sets for each kid and boom. Instant entertainment for a good 20 minutes while we put the eggs out.

These cupcakes are so darn delicious my family finished them in two days and even licked the cupcake liners. It is always a win in my book if I can add veggies to any meal, especially a dessert!

Make Easter Egg-stra Special

Much like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny is an exciting, fictitious character who you will want to “bring to life”. Here are some really cute ways to do that!
